For window cleaners

You are not selling a clean. You are selling a round.

Almost every other trade sells a one-off job. You sell a customer who pays every four or eight weeks for years. That single difference changes what a lead is worth, where it should come from, and why most window cleaners get the maths badly wrong.

The maths

Judge the lead against the customer, not the first clean.

This is where most window cleaners talk themselves out of advertising. They look at what one clean is worth, look at what a click costs, and decide the numbers do not work.

But you are not buying one clean. A customer who stays on the round for a couple of years is worth many multiples of that first visit, and they cost you nothing to win again. Once you compare the lead cost against the whole relationship rather than the first job, this becomes one of the better trades to advertise in rather than one of the worst.

It also changes what we optimise for. We are not chasing the cheapest possible enquiry. We are chasing enquiries from people who look like they will stay: householders in the right postcodes wanting a regular clean, rather than one-off pre-party or end-of-tenancy jobs that never come back.

Density

A customer two streets away is worth more than three across town.

Nothing decides a window cleaner's hourly rate more than how tightly the round is packed. Ten houses on one estate is a comfortable morning. Ten houses spread across a town is a day of driving with a bucket in the back.

So we build the campaign around density rather than volume. Bids are weighted towards the postcodes where you already work and the areas whose housing suits your pricing, and pulled back everywhere else — even where clicks are cheaper. A cheap lead in the wrong place makes your week worse, not better.

As the round fills we move the weighting. You tell us which day is light and which estate you want more of, and the budget follows it. That is not something you can do with a leaflet drop or by waiting for word of mouth.

Targeting

The word "windows" is a trap.

This trade has the single most expensive keyword confusion in exterior cleaning. "Windows" belongs to the double glazing industry, where a customer is worth thousands and companies bid accordingly. Drift into their searches and you will spend a week's budget in an afternoon.

IN
The searches we wantWindow cleaner and window cleaning with local intent, regular and monthly window cleaning, pure water and reach-and-wash, conservatory roof cleaning, plus fascia, soffit and gutter add-ons.
OUT
Double glazing and window fittingReplacement windows, uPVC, new windows, window prices, repairs, misted units and glaziers. The most costly leak in this trade and it is excluded before launch.
OUT
Rounds, jobs and franchisesWindow cleaning rounds for sale, jobs, franchises and start-up courses. High volume in this trade specifically, and worth nothing to you.
OUT
Equipment and suppliesWater fed poles, purification systems, squeegees and trolley systems. Plenty of searches, all from other window cleaners.
OUT
Commercial, unless you want itOffice and shopfront contracts are a different sale with a different cycle. Kept out by default, or built as its own arm if it is work you want.
Winning the enquiry

People are choosing somebody to come back forever.

A homeowner picking a window cleaner is not making a one-off purchase. They are deciding who turns up at their house every month, walks down the side, and knows when they are out. That is a trust decision, and it is not won on price.

What actually wins it is reliability signals: that you text the night before, that you do frames and sills, that there is no contract and no fuss if they want to stop, that you turn up when you say. Those are the lines we put in the ads, because they answer the doubt somebody has after being let down by the last one who vanished.

And because the relationship is long, speed of reply matters enormously. Most window cleaners lose work simply by not answering. Enquiries land in your portal the moment they come in, so you can ring back the same hour.

Our process

How we build your campaign.

01
Round mappingWhere you already work, which days are light, which estates you want more of and which you would rather avoid. The round shapes the targeting, not the other way round.
02
Build with the glazing block in placeDouble glazing, repairs, rounds for sale, jobs and equipment all excluded before a penny is spent.
03
Copy built on reliabilityText the night before, frames and sills included, no contract, pure water. Written to attract somebody looking for a regular rather than a one-off.
04
CRM and same-day callbacksEnquiries in your portal in real time with the address, so you can see instantly whether they are on an existing run before you quote.
05
Weighting moved as the round fillsTell us which day needs filling and we shift the budget to that area. Weekly search term reviews and new negatives as they appear.
Pricing

One setup fee. One monthly rate.

The same as every trade we work with. No percentage of spend, no long-term contract.

£250per month
Plus £400 one-off setup

Ad spend is paid directly to Google and is separate from our fee. We will give you a realistic budget for your area on the call.

  • Double glazing, repair, jobs and equipment searches excluded
  • Ad copy written to attract regulars rather than one-offs
  • Area weighting moved as your round fills up
  • CRM access with accept and reject, booking calendar and review chaser
  • Weekly optimisation and a person who answers the phone
Alongside it

What else works for window cleaners.

Search is where we would start. These three matter more in this trade than most, because you are asking people to let you come back every month.

01
Facebook and Instagram AdsVery strong for round building, because you can target a single estate and appear repeatedly to the same few hundred households until you are the window cleaner they think of.
02
Social media postingLocal community groups are where window cleaners get recommended more than any other trade. An active, visible page is what gets your name typed into those threads.
03
Google Business Profile postingReviews and a live profile do a lot of work here, because people are checking whether you are reliable before they let you start coming round.

Running more than one together is usually cheaper than buying them separately. Ask about the combined rate on your call.

Questions

Window cleaners usually ask us this.

Q
Is a window clean worth enough to advertise? Not if you judge it on the first clean. It is once you count the customer over a year or two, which is the correct way to look at recurring work. We will do that maths with you honestly on the call rather than talk you into it.
Q
I only want work in certain areas.Good, that makes the campaign better. Tell us the postcodes and the streets you want and we bid there rather than across a whole radius.
Q
What happens when my round is full?We turn the spend down or pause it, and you keep the account. Plenty of clients run in bursts, topping up whenever they lose customers or take on another van.
Q
Will I get one-off cleans I do not want? Some, but far fewer once the copy makes clear you are looking for regulars. If a one-off does come in you can reject it in the CRM in a couple of taps.
Q
Do you work with other window cleaners near me?No. One business per trade per area, so once your patch is taken the next one gets turned down.
